Bill Maris is an entrepreneur and VC. He is the founder and first CEO of Google Ventures (GV). With $2.5B billion under management, GV became one of the premier venture funds in the world under Maris’ leadership. Maris oversaw the growth of the team from 1 to 70+, across 7 offices, 2 continents, and 350 investments across all industries, including Nest, Uber, Grail, Slack, Carbon, Docusign, Silver Spring Networks, and 23andme. He is the creator of Google’s Calico project, a multi-billion dollar company focused on the genetic basis of aging.  Maris founded Section 32, recently closing on $150 million, based in San Diego. We are more than excited to have him join us!
